A rainbow is the symbolic representation of universal acceptance which embodies a symbiotic balance of color, celebration and tolerance. An annual event spanning two days, the San Diego Pride Festival includes a parade along the corridor of Balboa Park and wraps through the streets of Hillcrest. Life is always a celebration in San Diego and the Pride Festival embodies a culture of prosperity and acquiescence that is embraced by the gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgendered community. The weekend begins with a human rights vigil on Friday evening and will be followed by a Stride and Strut Saturday morning. The parade steps off at University Avenue towards Marston Point where the festival will commence and continue through Sunday night.
