PETCO Park, completed in 2004 and home to the San Diego Padres, is an intimate park reminiscent of grand old ballparks with modern conveniences set in the middle of downtown's shopping, dining and lively nightlife district, the Gaslamp Quarter. However you decide to travel, PETCO is easy access via the San Diego Trolley, bus or car, and is a short walk from many nearby hotels. Home games are primarily in the evening with a start time of 7:15pm PST; however, you will find the occasional Thursday and Sunday games that begin at 1:05pm. For families on a budget, purchase tickets for the Park at the Park. Bring your own blanket and enjoy the game from atop the grassy knoll complete with a mini-diamond for the kids and an outward-facing Jumbotron so you never miss a pitch. The season begins March 31st and Padres fans hope it runs through October. To view the 2008 Padre game schedule, purchase tickets or learn more visit the Padres website.
